About The Gap Art Club
We are a friendly art club, based in Goring-on-Thames where we meet fortnightly on Wednesday afternoons. You can work on a group subject matter, or on your own art or project, in a pleasant and social environment, where we encourage each other and share techniques. Dry point etching or any other project
Following Karen Carter's recent visit, where we explored dry point etching, we will be getting messy again in this untutored session, where will will provide some equipment and inks. Continue refining your previous pieces, amending works to get even more texture in printing, or create a new piece. For new works, come prepared with an A6 size sketch to trace and etch.
If you want to work in a different medium such as acrylics and watercolours, just bring that along.
Visiting tutor - Rachel Ashman
Rachel is a local artist and experienced educator. Her work explores colour, shape and pattern predominately with weave and print processes to capture textural details. In this session we will be experimenting with botanical prints using bold colours on both paper and fabrics, and adding embellishment to the finished work.
For those who have not block booked, the cost for this session will be £16.
This will be our last session before our summer break after which we start again on 7 September.
We're planning the rest of our 2022 sessions, which will again include visiting tutors to help expand our skills using different mediums and techniques.
The sessions will be a mixture of shorter 2 hour un-tutored sessions starting at 2pm, as well as longer tutored 3 hours starting at 1.30pm. Payment for this term will be split into 4 sessions for September / October and 4 sessions for November / December. (Please note that unusually, November will have 3 sessions with December just 1).
Make a note of the dates in your diaries and help support your club. Advance booking really helps us plan ahead.
Visiting tutor - Karen Carter
Karen is an experienced tutor and has taken several session for us previously - always fun, experimental and messy ! More content details to follow.
